This is the format in which I first presented pictures on the site.  These thumbnails link to a thumbnail page for the pictures in the galleries.  Originally they linked to picture pages with several pictures on each page.  Then I discovered that my photo editor would output html galleries.  This saves a good deal of time.  When it came time to redo the pages the only sensible approach is to use the automated generator.
